No couple is exempted to extramarital affairs. I have witnessed couples whose marriages have been broken because of adultery. Sometimes couples who have just been married have experienced this situation. In early marriage, couples have high expectations, lack of adjustments on both parties and failure to resist temptations happens to be the core of extramarital affairs.
We are humans and temptations always come in our lives. Temptation is everywhere today and as a man we have to accept that were dishonest if sometimes one-way or the other we have been attracted to some beautiful girls. Women on the other hand gets usually attracted to men who give them care and concern. The Question is not on how many temptations comes but on how we treat and on how we handle them points out to be the real issue! Marriage involves commitment and it means a promise and a dedication to be loyal to your partner. It is a bond that no one and nothing can shatter!
I have a friend who has separated because of extramarital affairs. She is working abroad as a nurse and goes home only once a year. She worked very hard for the future of their children. One day when she got home, she discovered that her husband not only had an extramarital affair but also had a son because of adultery. They tried everything to settle things but it became worse. They both baffled each other with accusations and blaming for each other faults. The husband attested that he is a man and it is but normal for him to give into temptations. My friend insists that they had a solemn vow to be committed to each other no matter what. Marriage takes two to tango and in this situation both of the parties have to admit their mistakes. The husband gave into temptation while my friend lacked time for her family. It is really quite hard when these situations come in marriage but the core and main issue will always goes back to their love and commitment for each other.
I believe when both partners love each other and are really certain to resist every temptation no matter what it will not be an issue in a marriage. When temptation comes then say “No”, if you really love your partner then that love will always prevail even how hard it is to resist that temptation. Temptation will always be there to distract and entice you temporarily but it is “You” that can cause to ruin your marriage permanently!
